Post-Master's FNP Certificate Programs
General Program Description
The purpose of the Family Nurse Practitioner program is to educate outstanding Family Nurse Practitioners to provide primary health care to families in need in California through service-in-learning activities. A Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse (R.N.) who has advanced education and clinical training in primary health care. The UCI Family Nurse Practitioner Program is a post Master’s Certificate program that prepares the graduate to assume responsibility for the primary ambulatory health care needs of family members in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The program includes classroom studies and mentored clinical experience.
Upon completion of the program, students attain a Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate of Completion, and are prepared to take the ANCC or AANP National Certification Exam after graduation.
