Nursing Organizations
Founded in 1952, NSNA (National Student Nurses’ Association) is a nonprofit organization for students enrolled in associate, baccalaureate, diploma, and generic graduate nursing programs. It is dedicated to fostering the professional development of nursing students.
The NSNA sponsors two national conferences each year, puts out the periodical Imprint Magazine, and provides scholarship and leadership opportunities for its members. www.nsna.org
The CNSA (California Nursing Students’ Association) is the California constituent of the National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA). This association sponsors an annual conference open to all members. Resources such as scholarship opportunities, job postings, and legislative information are also provided by the CNSA. Their website can be reached at www.csna.org.
The Program in Nursing Science also invites students to join the Nursing Science Students Association at UCI (NSSA@UCI). This student group connects undergraduates directly to the nursing profession through activities such as lectures and organized trips. The NSSA@UCI is in the process of becoming the official UCI chapter of the CNSA. Those interested in more information about the club are encouraged to explore their website, http://spirit.dos.uci.edu/nursingstudents, or email the officers at nursingstudents@spirit.dos.uci.edu.
