The Program in Nursing Science would like to congratulate Mary Knudtson, DNSc, NP on her appointment as a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing. Mary was inducted on November 8, 2008 during their annual meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona for her outstanding achievements as a leader in the nursing profession. She is currently a Clinical Professor of Family Medicine and Director of the FNP Program. We are extremely proud of Mary's accomplishments and are delighted she is recognized amongst fellow health care leaders within the nursing field.

On September 24, 2008 the Program in Nursing Science held its second annual White Coat Ceremony, an event to honor the incoming Nursing Science class of 2010. Students entering their third year in the program received white laboratory coats after being honored by UCI faculty and community members.

Congratulations to Alison Holman whose current research was featured in a recent NY Times article.

The Program in Nursing Science would like to congratulate students Sean Sampson and Mike Huynh for receiving the Kaiser Permanente Deloras Jones Nursing Scholarship Award.

On September 25, the Program in Nursing Science held its first annual White Coat Ceremony. Students entering their third year in the Program of Nursing Science received white laboratory coats and nursing pins after being honored by UCI faculty and community members.

A Welcome Breakfast for Nursing Science Students was held on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at the Bren Events Center. The Chancellor presented the inaugural class of students with pins and certificates.
