ADMISSION CRITERIA
ADMISSION CRITERIA FOR ALL APPLICANTS
- Have a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Must provide proof of Licensure as a registered nurse in California.
- Completion of a course in Descriptive and Inferential Statistics.
- Overall grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in all coursework.
- Must have a minimum of three years of recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in direct patient care in California.
ADMISSION CRITERIA FOR UNIVERISTY OF CALIFORNIA IRVINE
Admission Criteria for UCI:
An applicant must meet the minimum academic requirements:
- hold a degree of bachelor of arts, letters, philosophy, or science (or equivalent) from a recognized academic institution with degree standards equivalent to those of the University of California.
- have an overall grade point average of B (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) or better.

INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS
In addition to the criteria listed above, International applicants, immigrants to the U.S., and U.S. permanent residents whose native language is not English must show proof of English language, listening, reading, writing, and speaking proficiency. Proficiency testing is not required for applicants who have received their baccalaureate degree in the U.S., Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, or the United Kingdom. A minimum TOEFL iBT score of 80 and a minimum score of 26 for the speaking portion is required.

Specific Requirements for admission to the Master of Science in Nursing for International Students:
- Completion of a nursing bachelor's degree, if available in the country of origin. All non-English transcripts must be translated into English by a certified translator.
- Scholastic record comparable to that reflected by a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Completion of a course in Descriptive and Inferential Statistics.
- Evidence of an unrestricted California RN license and show proof of employment in California for at least 3 years in direct patient care.
IMMUNIZATIONS
Accepted applicants must, prior to enrollment, show proof of immunity to Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella. In addition, students must provide a negative tuberculin test within the past year and annually thereafter or Chest X-ray within the past year and every four years thereafter.
